Here at Saint Rose of Lima Early Childhood Center we strive to provide each and every child with the best education they can receive. Our thematic approach to learning sets groundwork for our teachers but leaves plenty of room for personal creativity and style. We model our teaching using the most recent New Jersey Core Standards, making sure all of our learning has a purpose. Our classrooms centers vary, yet promote developmentally appropriate learning through the act of play.
Each child learns differently, therefore, we offer a variety of teaching styles in our everyday classrooms to help scaffold them to their fullest potential. We extend and refine our themes using application, reiteration and most importantly, play.
Here at St. Rose we are committed to laying the foundation for each child to prepare them for their futures as eager and interested learners.
 

Our teachers are able to provide an environment where students can learn creative problem solving and tactical skills.  Children are exposed to our STEM program where they are able to apply Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at a developmentally appropriate level.   Along with our theme-based teaching stragetgies such as calendar, letter and number recognition, weather, and more, our students are able to become well-rounded learners.

Our children are involved in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development.  Each classroom is equipped with a Smart Board and several I-pads for the children to use. By using these tools, teachers are able to enhance the social and academic skills of their students through active learning.

Our mission is to prepare children for a life-long passion of learning and exploration.  The curriculum is adaptable and emerges from the children's own ideas, interests, and observations.  We provide a faith-based learning experience by teaching religion to our students using the program, "Stories of God's Love."
